Title: Sr. Account Director
Reports to: SVP/VP, Client Partnerships
 
Position Summary:
The Sr. Account Director is responsible for managing high revenue accounts, developing account teams and identifying resources to manage current and new business. Central to the role is fostering strong client relationships, sourcing new business opportunities, ensuring strategic integrity, and training the account team in this regard. The individual is responsible for development of business growth with current accounts and new client opportunities while cultivating team performance and professional development. This role also requires a strong digital mindset. The Sr. Account Director should be comfortable leading integrated campaigns that span digital and traditional channels from strategy through execution and able to connect data driven insights to creative solutions that deliver measurable results.
The Sr. Account Director owns a book of business exceeding $4M in fee revenue annually and serves as a key strategic partner to both clients and internal leadership, driving sustained growth, cross-account expansion, and team scalability.

Salaries will vary based on various factors including but not limited to professional and academic experience, training, associated responsibilities, and other business and organizational needs. Key Responsibilities + Areas of Accountability:
- Own and manage a book of business exceeding $4M in annual fee revenue, demonstrating fiscal responsibility, sustained growth, and strategic impact.
 - Serve as a key strategic partner to clients across multiple accounts or a large flagship account, guiding brand strategy with minimal oversight from leadership
 - Drive year-over-year organic growth, identifying and converting upsell and buy-up opportunities; consistently contributes to agency growth goals through client expansion
 - Partners with leads of other departments to ensure business needs are being met, team morale is strong, and team collaboration is positive and effective
 - Proactively lead the onboarding and transition of new scopes, projects, or accounts, acting as an extension of the Leadership Team in driving business evolution
 - Understands product clinical data, competitive landscape, and customer insights to develop comprehensive brand plans and pull through brand strategy
 - Understands market landscape of key therapeutic areas that Heller specializes in and conducts frequent research to stay abreast of industry news and marketing trends, integrating insights into strategic planning and client advisement
 - Maintains thorough knowledge of client’s business to anticipate marketing and advertising challenges and opportunities
 - Drive the planning and execution of multi-channel digital campaigns including websites, paid media, CRM/Email, SEO/SEM, social media, display, and programmatic
 - Identify and accurately define audience segmentation, user journeys, and channel mix optimization for clients
 - Translate analytics and user behavior insights into actionable recommendations to improve engagement, conversion, and ROI
 - Represent the agency at a senior level, leading client meetings, business reviews, and pitch opportunities with confidence and insight
 - Collaborate with agency leadership to assess account performance, recommend resourcing changes, and contribute to strategic business decisions across the portfolio
 - Mentor and develop team members, identifying growth paths and proactively managing their professional development. Identify and foster department and team members’ opportunities for growth, proactively managing the team.
 - Ensure financial health across multiple accounts, including ownership of P&L and ensuring the profitability of accounts based on agency income- incudes estimating, monitoring, financial tracking, forecasting, and billing
 
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree (preferred)
 - 6-9 years of agency experience (healthcare experience preferred)
 - 5+ years of demonstrated success in managing and leading people
 - Proven experience as an account director or similar position
 - An obsessive attention to detail while tracking toward the bigger picture
 - A deep understanding of the different approaches to marketing to patients vs. HCPs
 - Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal)
 - Team player who partners with all departments to ensure the team functions at a high level
 - Self-starter and able to work efficiently under pressure
 - Comfortable creating presentations and presenting in front of clients
 - Strong planning and project management capabilities
